The urgent question before us, THE USA, is what will be different going forward. 1965 Watts, LA92, USA2020? Blacks live matter! They mattered then, they matter now, they will always matter. We the people must change the perspective of division to avoid this devastating cycle of physical violence and cultural suicide.
Law Abiding citizens must stand together peacefully. Authority must be reformed and respected. We can do better. Will we. I wonder.

It is done now. Recovering from the sound and fury is not simple and everyone does it differently. Our societal leaders rang the fear bell in March. We the people responded and hid away from life and one another. We denied our basic needs for community and faith and fellowship and embraced FEAR as our overseer. Authoritarian tendencies were encouraged because it was for the greater good, for public health, to save our most at risk, to save ourselves.
we the people are now afraid. Our fragile hold on trusting one another has been ripped away in most cases. Instead we now rely on the TV, on the Internet, on the government. Dictators and authoritarians know that fear binds us. They use it to manipulate and control us. It is then followed by force. The solution to the sound of fear is the liberty bell. We stand up and sing together of our faith in God, and one another. We must embrace our lives and living in place of fear. We cannot unring the fear bell that our #idiotsincharge rang so recklessly but we can stand together and ring a whole chorus of bells into the future filled with faith, hope, and love. The fear is always there but it can be overcome with faith. Abolish the police is foolishness. Defund the police is misguided and reckless. I am watching my country listen to uninformed, inexperienced children for public policy. This is insanity.
Systemic Reorganization without cultural change changes almost nothing with huge costs. Any movement that REQUIRES 100% compliance by dictate is doomed. Authority and enforcement MUST persist. Rule of Law is the only way. It is naive and utterly ridiculous to embrace an idyllic utopian view that is impractical and dangerous. We have the best system of government in the world. We should be using it and reforming our representatives and leaders using our VOTEs. We the people can and will stand together to reform America. The process for progress never ended and it never will. The real danger affecting us all right now is fear. Not just any old garden variety fear, but the fear of our fellow man. We are dangerously close to accepting the lie that our fellow man will kill us with contact and regular “life”. Yes, the covid19 virus is dangerous, but it is not as dangerous to the mass majority of our population as we are being told. The fear narrative is the real danger. This is not the first pandemic in our world, and it is not likely to be that last. Very little has changed, except our fear response. By my calculations, the recovery/survival rate on Covid is something like 99.85%… seriously. Our world has been turned upside down by something that will likely kill one person in a thousand. This death rate is not new. What is new, is this idea that we must avoid contact with our family, our neighbors, and our friends and rely solely on the internet, the media, and the government to keep us connected and safe. THIS IS INSANITY. I WILL NOT COMPLY! Our society flattened the curve here in the US and “saved” the medical system?! What we have done is take a true acute medical crisis, and turn it into a global, catastrophic humanitarian crisis. Disconnecting from one another locally, and trusting some magical central planning authority is the hallmark of authoritarianism and tyrannical dark times throughout history. We know the death rate on these behaviors…. And the recovery rate is NOT 99.9%. Losing connection with our loved ones and neighbors KILLS. Unemployment and dependency KILLS. No one is coming to save you. The media and the governing authorities are using this programmatic fear narrative to gain and maintain control. The roots may be malevolent or incompetent. It does not matter in the end as the result is the same. People will die. The solution is to stand up for yourself, educate yourself, connect with your family, and accept that you were never in control. Go out and live your life as free citizens. Make choices, connect to those that matter, and own the consequences. Our world is going about its business as usual… The people are living and dying. Each of us chooses how we live or die. For this Virginian, Give me liberty or give me death has taken on a whole new meaning when it is applied to my ability to connect physically with my fellow humans. Making new laws and rules is a useless activity without the ability to enforce and review the ones already in place. Anyone willing to break the current law will not comply with the new laws. Control is imposed and managed with force: violence, economy, and livelihood. Privileges and rights are related but not the same. Wake up America. If you don’t take control of your life, someone else will.
Lowest common denominator?
Localized self reliance is the key to surviving and thriving in times of great stress. Neighbors, church, and family can sustain. They are focused on YOUR good by choice rather than law. Rugged individualism provides security in every sense. God’s relationship to you in HIS world is individual and personal. Trust and obey. Be. Love. Serve. Repeat. - local local local. The government and the “system” is always focused on the “collective greater” good. This commune based approach is not enough if the system comes under great stress. (eg. pandemics, recessions) it relies on rationing and central one size fits all planning in place of innovation and localized reward. A collective governing system is a necessary evil. This socialist approach ALWAYS fails over extended duration and scale. #Principles matter. Choose the former not the latter. I am very concerned. The US government “gives” its citizenry money in a multi phased bailout strategy. This cannot continue unchecked.
The funds represent an exchange value. This means that products and services are the ACTUAL value. Opening the economy means opening the ability of a free society to trade and exchange value. The US GOVT has virtually NO inherent value. It can only facilitate commerce and control. It is redistributing both NOW. #WakeUpAmerica this fear response, and knee jerk to look for help from the government is NOT American in principle. We must stand up and be counted. We must build and trade actual value. Tax and spend ideology is bipartisan and it is TOXIC. 5 IMPORTANT THOUGHTS!
1. CHOOSE now to lock down and isolate yourself and your family. (if you do not, the government WILL do it for you) The USA is a free country, but those freedoms are subject to restriction in times of crisis. This is why your Votes matter so much... 2. HELP others... money, skills, perspective.. If you can, you should. PERIOD. If we all step up, it WILL matter.. reliance on the government will fail... as systems always do. 3. Pray, Connect, Engage GOD in your daily life... connect to a church family virtually NOW... It is an ESSENTIAL service from you and to you. 4. Stop listening only to politicians and news media... Make decisions for yourself... based on a set of experts that you trust. 5. BE ACTIVE physically... every day... walk, build, sing, play. If you choose to sit on your butt in front of the TV you are weakening your body and increasing your likelihood of bad outcomes in every way. BE. LOVE. SERVE. REPEAT. and share this advice if it inspires you.. I have a deep seated animosity directed at “disablers”
- those so willing to make things harder, point out their concerns, fixate on semantics and process points ... make every point about what they want —- yet unwilling to step up and lead and create and build. Complaining, whining, and disabling undermine the very foundation of group progress. #fighty. - church, government, choirs, families... the disabler list is easy to find inside dying organizations/institutions all around. I've been pretty frustrated at the lack of execution by so many ministers including my own of late. Such wonderful ideas, so little action, such dependence on a "system" or "others" for action, such eviscerating opinions in their sermons presenting veiled attacks on personal political views of both sides collectivism vs individualism. As an individual committed to making a difference this decision to implement social initiatively force through the government is anathema to me.
Any minister fixated on the government’s power to implement morality and Christian “policy” is missing the reality of Jesus’ examples. Preaching a theocracy based collective autocracy model is not biblical. We must choose to Be Love and Serve. Cheerfully. On a journey. With full armor and faith in our personal relationship with GOD. Not government. Board/Team/Leadership/Session/Council meetings must be inspired small group discussions about growth rather than large gatherings of disinterested people listening to staff reports. — time is a precious asset. Some maintenance-operations must be managed in meetings, but plans AND RESULTS need to qualified and quantified against investment-mission-growth.
Staff focuses on operations and execution. “Executive” Leadership focuses on mission and evaluating results and the right mix of assets is in the tank to ensure that the engine is efficiently powering ahead. Will the engine handle the rough road ahead? Are you spending any time truly assessing the steps ahead against the roads already taken? Communication in leadership is about achieving an outcome. If you spend majority of time trying to control drama and spin because of your lack of skill, you need to change something... maybe everything... channels are for attention but attention doesn’t equate to progress and success.
The outcomes are the goal... outcomes represent value. Communication and spin are only means to an end. Bad communication in leadership will lead to poor outcomes, division, and demagoguery. What is the state of your communication? |
