Volatile and tragic times are nothing new. Perhaps our collective response to them is, perhaps not. I’m not sure we are even special.
We change nothing by assassinating the character of others. Hysterical claims and emotional appeals are engaging in media but only influential when connected to reasonable and logical proposals for change. Debate and dialogue enables education and progress at every level. ———- "This institution will be based on the illimitable freedom of the human mind. For here we are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it." - Thomas Jefferson to William Roscoe, December 27, 1820
